Trash
Each bag of trash is required to have a sticker attached to it. A bag is 30 gallons or 30 pounds, whichever comes first. The stickers are $3.25 each and can be purchased at the WRRC office (Route 4 East across from Wild Grass), by mail, or at the Whippletree store in town.

Recycling
The following is a list of the items we collect and how to prepare them. Please place all items in a plastic recycling bin or milk crate.

  • Container Glass: Clean, unbroken bottles and jars, any size, any color.
    Trash = plastic caps, lids, corks, window glass, light bulbs, & other glassware = Trash
  • Aluminum Beverage Cans: Please keep separate from all other cans by placing in a paper grocery bag inside recycling bin.
  • All Other Cans: Place clean steel cans & aluminum cat food cans in separate paper bag. Flattten large (coffee-type) cans. Labels OK.
  • Aluminum Foil/Pans: Rinse, flatten & fill a cardboard box. No loose pieces.
  • HDPE #2 Translucent Plastic: Translucent milk, juice & water jugs are the only plastic we pick up on the route. Please rinse and flatten. (Call for information regarding dropping off colored HDPE #2 and clear and tinted PETE #1 bottles and the WRRC yard.)
    Trash = plastic cups, yogurt, margarine, tub, etc. containers = Trash
  • Corrugated Cardboard: Flatten and stack vertically inside one large box or tie securely. Staples and tape OK. Kraft paper grocery bags and dark brown/yellow paper envelopes OK.
    Trash = wax coated & wet strength cardboard and beer & soda 6-pack cases = Trash
  • Boxboard: Grey cereal box-type board. Flatten & stack tightly in box. NO LOOSE PIECES.
    Trash = frozen food packaging, plastic or waxed coated materials, beer & soda 6-pack cases = Trash
  • Newspaper: Place in double grocery bag. Ad inserts OK. Please wait for dry weather to put out.
  • Sorted Office Paper: Stationery, non-glossy white & colored paper, computer & copy paper, white envelopes (windows OK), index & greeting cards (non-foil & non-glossy), cream-colored file folders, white shopping bags, fax paper, non-glossy pamphlets, checks. Fill a liquor sized box, attach 1 pink sticker per box (for extra handling). Limit 2 boxes per week.
    Trash = Tyvek envelopes, carbon paper, blueprints, paper towels & tissue = Trash
  • Magazines, Catalogs, Glossy Inserts & Magazine Supplements: Fill liquor box or any box of similar size. Attach one pink sticker per box (for extra handling). Limit: 2 boxes of 30 pounds each per week.
    Trash = paper-back books & plastic wrappers = Trash
