  • Free pesticides and herbicides disposal.
  • Economical disposal of hazardous wastes for small quantity generators.

If you make anything, you're probably a "Generator"
Do you generate any hazardous wastes in small amounts? If so you are probably a "conditionally exempt small quantity generator," or "CEG." This designation allows you to use simpler methods of getting rid of your hazardous waste. Read all about it in the CEG Handbook (340k adobe pdf file) put out by the Vermont DEC, or call the hotline for details: 1-800-974-9559 x2.

Do You Need a State Permit?
The goal of using a Permit Assistance Specialist is to take the mystery, anxiety, and frustration out of the environmental permit process for businesses and the public. The Specialists give you advice about state permits required for your project and help you find the on-line resources and staff who can help you obtain your permit.

Join the Vermont Business Environmental Partnership
The Vermont Business Environmental Partnership (VBEP) is a voluntary, environmental assistance and business recognition program offered by the Environmental Assistance Office of the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation and the Vermont Small Business Development Center. The goals of the Partnership are to promote improved environmental and economic performance and to promote public recognition of environmental excellence.

Another Resource for Businesses: Materials Exchanges
Materials exchanges facilitate the reuse of materials and saving them from becoming waste. They do this by acting like a broker or bulleting board, helping businesses that have unwanted materials connect with other businesses who could use that same material. Most materials exchanges have listings of "materials available" and "materials wanted" that are provided in newsletters, catalogs, or online.

Here are some local exchanges:
